The Perfect Smile
Tooth Whitening
Over time, teeth become stained by the foods and drinks we consume. Age and trauma can also affect the tooth colour. Tooth whitening is a simple and effective way of brightening the colour of your teeth. The degree of whiteness achieved will vary from patient to patient.
Home Whitening
On your first visit we will take a mould of your teeth to provide you with your own custom-made tray. A supply of whitening gel will also be given for take-home use and may be worn while you sleep and/or for short periods during the day. You should fill your trays about 1/3rd full, ensuring that no excess gel spills out onto the gum or soft tissues. Results occur gradually and improvements are typically seen over a couple of weeks. A small amount of sensitivity may occur from tooth whitening, this is usually transient.
Porcelain Veneers
Veneers are used to restore the aesthetic appearance of teeth, often those at the front of the mouth. Veneers can be used for discoloured, broken or misaligned teeth to re-create a natural, healthy-looking smile. A veneer is essentially like a false nail which is placed over the tooth so minimal preparation is therefore needed. A very strong bond (like a glue/cement) is used to keep the veneer in place and once fitted, normal function is restored.
White Fillings
White fillings can be used to restore areas of decay, particularly at the front of the mouth where aesthetics are concerned. This material can also be used to repair chipped teeth and to close a gap between teeth. Your dentist will advise you when this treatment is appropriate.
